One Room Challenge (Dining Room) - Week 5

This is it folks! We are down to the last week before all the amazing One Room Challenge reveals take place!  I must admit I'm pretty smitten on how the dining room has come together over the past month.  This week I decided on the focal mirror, got it hung and began messing around with decor.

Check out all the ORC guest participants here......Guest Participant

I ended up choosing this gorgeous sunburst mirror from Pier1 in a driftwood finish.  Remember how I kept saying I wanted something round.  Well, originally I bought a different round (30") galvanized mirror that gave me that porthole feeling I wanted.  However on our 10ft ceilings it just looked lost.  I returned it and saw this stunner in the display window! Needless to say it came home with me.
Shout out to Pier1 for the most beautiful mirror AND the fact that it was incredibly simple to hang with it's own wire already attached.  My husband is forever grateful! Lol.

I'm also excited to announce the red ladder is officially back in the garage! Can I get an "Amen!".  That thing has been in my dining room for a month!  In the meantime this week I've been back and forth between the real tree from Home Depot and the faux fig.  They both look awesome against the wallpaper but my gut is telling me to keep the fiddle leaf.

This cute woven basket is from World Market and I actually found it online in the clearance for $11!!

I also stopped into Marshalls this week and found this large oyster shell ball in the clearance marked down to $12 and knew it would be perfect on one of the buffet shelves! So I'm super pumped about that!

I don't want to give too many sneaks into the room since the reveal is next week! I hope you all love it as much as I do! A few more tweaks and we are good to go.  I'm so happy I decided to take the plunge (scary as it seemed) and invite you all along on this design journey.

XOXO
Tracy

Neutrals by BEHR Paint

I've been working on a project for the past two weeks and what always seems to be the most challenging part is choosing paint colors.  I have been wanting to find a nice neutral that isn't too "Gray" and isn't too "Beige" but not too white either. I personally like the look of white walls in pictures but in reality I'm not a huge fan.  Also, I like to see a contrast between painted walls and white trim.  Each time I look over on Pinterest for inspiration I find lots of suggestions for other paint brands..but I'm a BEHR girl :)  We spend so much time at Home Depot it just makes more sense for us.  That being said I decided to share with all of you my suggestions for finding the perfect "light Greige" by BEHR Paints!   To start off with here are three options that are lighter/cooler but will still show a nice contrast next to white. 1. Drizzle 2. Sterling 3. Halation These three options are als...

4 Tips for Selling Your Home!

*Sponsored Post. Thank you to our talented guest blogger, Alex Berger, for sharing these 4 tips on selling your home!* Selling your home can be extremely stressful, but if you are in the beginning stages of the home selling process, I have a few tips for you! About four years ago, my parents packed up their home and moved from Marietta, Georgia to Amelia Island, which is about 30-40 minutes from the Jacksonville airport. They had no idea what to expect when it came to buying in a city that was completely new to them (they had only visited Jacksonville once - for two days!), so it was pretty stressful for them. Now, looking back, they could have done many things differently in order to make the process a lot easier for themselves, especially when it came to selling their home. But, since the selling process is so complex and stressful, a lot of people do it “wrong,” and they are just one of many, which is why I want to help. Here are a few tips for selling your home. Hopefully...
