Before I met my husband he had an investment property that he rented out and we have held on to it for the past 9-10 years. Three years ago we did a major renovation on the property that included floors, a paver driveway and patio, painting, an entirely new kitchen, bathrooms, roof, windows, plumbing..you get the point. Knowing that we would continue to rent it out I picked out all basic "builder" fixtures and materials. In the meantime the renters have also painted it and added a red brick backsplash in the kitchen. Next month we are going to list the property because the market is at a high in the neighborhood (and to be quite honest we don't really want rental properties to manage anymore.) Since the home had been recently renovated I'm only looking to spend a small amount of money getting it ready for the market.
