It has been about two years since we really gave our back paver deck a "refresh". This spring my husband and I decided it was time to freshen things up back there, starting with a powerwash. Now, keep in mind I have over 2000 sq feet of paver patio back there! That's more square footage than my home...so now you see why we may have been slacking when it came to a yearly powerwash. Anyways, this year it really needed it and boy am I glad we got that done and can just enjoy the patio all summer!
I wanted to do all this on a budget obviously and holy smokes are new patio cushions for specific sets expensive! Our patio "conversation" area cost around $800 brand new and to replace just the faded cushions I was looking at around $550! (Insert shocked face) So I began researching fabric painting and fabric spray painting options. For my faded "deep red" 8 cushions I was looking to spend about $150/$200 on paint alone. Not to mention all the time and patience that takes.... Then one night my wise husband told me I should do whatever would make me happy but that I should keep in mind somethings are just better off being bought new and he wasn't sold on painting the outdoor cushions (I'll never admit it, but I wasn't quite sure I wanted to gamble my cushions away to paint either lol) So long story short after searching and searching sites for my Hampton Bay Beverly Set I found I could buy just the cushion covers AND in gray (so they wouldn't fade so fast) for around $200! SOLD! They arrived super fast, they look awesome, and they were easy to put on!
Here are some photos of the patio all dressed and ready for the season! I still have another half of the patio to really work on but for now this is the area we use most and that I see from inside my house so I'm HAPPY!
This teak "tiki" bar is from ACE Hardware a few summers ago and we use it under the TV almost like a console. The anchor is from Kirklands and the boat and fish are from Marshalls. (All purchased a few summers back)
This large ceramic floor lantern is from Home Depot last summer when they put them on sale.
You can see here my new "Resort" outdoor rug from Frontgate. The color is "Sea". You can also begin to see my gray cushion covers from Home Depot. The navy outdoor pillow is one I already had from Target.
The new look! Now the patio is full of cool blue tones vs the old deep red cushions and orange accents. It's always nice to have a change and our large neutral umbrella from IKEA works perfectly with both.
I bought the teal striped outdoor pillows last week from Marshalls for $9.99 a pillow!
How about that large mason vase?! It was love at first sight! I found that at Marshalls last week for $7.99!
I added some new $5 Home Depot ferns around the patio. This one is actually in my galvanized tub from Walmart.
This is our actual Tiki bar that we purchased from ACE Hardware years ago...possibly 5 years? They still sell these though. It was originally a light stain but over the years it got rough looking so about two years ago I re-stained it and now we keep it under our patio roof.
These little lumbar pillows are outdoor and inexpensive! I found them at IKEA last spring.
The lounge chairs are from Home Depot and the Tiki umbrella and table are from SAMS Club.
My little models enjoying the new digs!
I'm so happy how the patio turned out just by reorganizing and changing around the furniture! The only new items are the cushion covers/rug/striped pillows and mason vase! Now I need to figure out a refresh for our outdoor dining table and fire pit area...but maybe that's a project for next spring!
Thanks for stopping by!
XOXO
