One Room Challenge (Week 2) -Dining Room

It's week two of the One Room Challenge!! Check out the guest participant link to the ORC here....Guest Participant

Over the past seven days I am happy to say the room design plan is all set and the design picks are chosen!  I decided on the accent wall (it's going to be GORGEOUS and blue...hint hint) and everything after that slowly started falling into place! This week my new dining side chairs arrived thanks to Lexmod Furniture and they are EXACTLY what I had dreamed of!  The room is already beginning to take on a new feel simply by changing out the chairs!  I can't even explain how nice it feels to walk down from the upstairs and see the dining room finally taking shape.  It's been a long few months of blah in there!

Oh happy mail day! I am so beyond thrilled over these chairs! If you remember last week I mentioned I wanted to find new chairs but no fabric, no slip covers, no leather! These natural wood and woven dining chairs are perfect for the kiddos and are beauties to boot! I didn't even realize until my husband mentioned how the woven seats match the dining buffet! Bonus!

Below I have linked some of the items I'm planning on incorporating into the room as well as the new chairs and the existing rug.

Large Glass Vase
Can't go wrong with large glass vases ever! I want to keep the centerpiece simple so the accent wall really shines.

Area Rug
With all the shades of blue in my rug it's going to be fun adding the decor...since obviously I am drawn to any and everything blue!

Gear Dining Chair
These beauties come in different shades..I went with the natural but let me tell you the gray is stunning as well!

From the moment I started designing this room in my head I KNEW I needed one!

Lenda Curtains
My go to favorite curtain, We have the gray in the family room but in the dining room I want to get the white.  (118' and you get the PAIR for $25!)

Now that the chairs are here I am focusing this next week on the accent wall! (And adding some texture) I'll also be on the hunt for a large wall mirror.  I'm leaning toward a circle shape for above the buffet ..sort of like a porthole vibe...but I'm not positive yet! Stay tuned!

XOXO
Tracy

4 Tips for Selling Your Home!

*Sponsored Post. Thank you to our talented guest blogger, Alex Berger, for sharing these 4 tips on selling your home!* Selling your home can be extremely stressful, but if you are in the beginning stages of the home selling process, I have a few tips for you! About four years ago, my parents packed up their home and moved from Marietta, Georgia to Amelia Island, which is about 30-40 minutes from the Jacksonville airport. They had no idea what to expect when it came to buying in a city that was completely new to them (they had only visited Jacksonville once - for two days!), so it was pretty stressful for them. Now, looking back, they could have done many things differently in order to make the process a lot easier for themselves, especially when it came to selling their home. But, since the selling process is so complex and stressful, a lot of people do it “wrong,” and they are just one of many, which is why I want to help. Here are a few tips for selling your home. Hopefully

Neutrals by BEHR Paint

I've been working on a project for the past two weeks and what always seems to be the most challenging part is choosing paint colors.  I have been wanting to find a nice neutral that isn't too "Gray" and isn't too "Beige" but not too white either. I personally like the look of white walls in pictures but in reality I'm not a huge fan.  Also, I like to see a contrast between painted walls and white trim.  Each time I look over on Pinterest for inspiration I find lots of suggestions for other paint brands..but I'm a BEHR girl :)  We spend so much time at Home Depot it just makes more sense for us.  That being said I decided to share with all of you my suggestions for finding the perfect "light Greige" by BEHR Paints!   To start off with here are three options that are lighter/cooler but will still show a nice contrast next to white. 1. Drizzle 2. Sterling 3. Halation These three options are als
