Easy DIY table transformation

Somewhere in between putting sprinkles on everything (for my daughters birthday) and planting some new spring blooms outside I decided I was sick and tired of my breakfast table and all its horrible scratches.  Now I'm definitely one for instant gratification so I started googling quick easy table updates.  One technique in particular really stood out to me....liming! What was this magical wax that made everything look white washed and beachy?! I watched a couple tutorials, found out that my local ACE hardware sold it and took a quick drive.

Now after watching some techniques I learned you don't NEED to sand (almost like chalk painting) but with my table having sooo many scratches I did a light sanding that took me a whole 10 minutes. After cleaning the table and letting it dry all you do it brush the liming wax on with a bristle brush.  The technique I used was to do one "dusting" first using a X motion, allow to dry for about 10-15 minutes and come back and do another heavier layer.

The wax sits for anywhere from 12-24 hours (I just let mine sit overnight) and then rub it out with a lint free rag.  Guess what? YOU are done!

I'm in love with this new look and have decided to give the table legs and chair backs a coat of black chalk paint some time next week.  Let me know if you try it!!

XOXO

  1. Does it feel waxy to the touch?? I want to do this but I'm afraid I will mess it up

  2. Have you used chalk paint before? It's finish is similar to the clear wax you top chalk paint with. It's smooth to the touch and can be wiped down easily. Hope that helps! :)

  3. Gorgeous! I've been wanting to try Amy Howard's Lime wax, now I know exactly what I want to use it for! Thank you!

4 Tips for Selling Your Home!

*Sponsored Post. Thank you to our talented guest blogger, Alex Berger, for sharing these 4 tips on selling your home!* Selling your home can be extremely stressful, but if you are in the beginning stages of the home selling process, I have a few tips for you! About four years ago, my parents packed up their home and moved from Marietta, Georgia to Amelia Island, which is about 30-40 minutes from the Jacksonville airport. They had no idea what to expect when it came to buying in a city that was completely new to them (they had only visited Jacksonville once - for two days!), so it was pretty stressful for them. Now, looking back, they could have done many things differently in order to make the process a lot easier for themselves, especially when it came to selling their home. But, since the selling process is so complex and stressful, a lot of people do it “wrong,” and they are just one of many, which is why I want to help. Here are a few tips for selling your home. Hopefully...

Stock The Pantry First of all, take note of who is comming.  Do you know thier likes and dislikes?
