Weekend in Miami!

Over the past weekend we drove down to Miami and spent the night at our favorite beach front hotel..Marenas Resort.  It was our anniversary weekend and wanted to go somewhere we could have fun with the whole family. This is now the second time we have taken the girls to this particular resort (which is pretty impressive because both my husband and I love trying new places.) This resort offers "condo style" rooms which is awesome when traveling with children, has a really good onsite restaurant and is located right on Sunny Isles Beach.  The standard suite has views of both the ocean and the harbor. Stunning views! They also do NOT charge extra for beach chairs and umbrellas which is almost unheard of now a days.  It's moderately priced for everything your getting in this location.

These are the views off the patios and around the pool.  I just love Miami's water! Its such a beautiful color and reminds me of the Bahamas!

We spent all day Saturday down at the beach with the girls.  The resort also offers a an area for the kids to play with tons of sand toys and shade from umbrellas.  My girls were in heaven! (and mommy didn't have to haul a gazillion beach toys from home)

Here are the views on either side of the balcony.  Gorgeous!! The balconies are also quite spacious with very clean and modern outdoor furniture. Two cushioned chairs and a table.
Having two young children that get exhausted from spending long days in the sun and water we always look for hotels that give good dining options onsite.  Marenas does not disappoint! This was the seafood pasta dish I ordered.  We ate outside on the patio enjoying the views. (Pretty Romantic!)

Here are some shots of the inside of the suite.  You can see the full size kitchen, granite counters and stainless appliances. (and my 4 year old running around lol)   The bottom picture is of the bedroom that offers a king size bed and floor to ceiling windows for those gorgeous views!
The girls and I getting ready to take on South Beach! Sunday morning we left early to walk around Ocean Avenue.  It only takes about 30 minutes to get there from the resort and you drive along the beach the whole way looking at all the fun hotels!

Sunday we walked up and down Ocean Ave.  It's a whole different experience than going there at night! My daughters love seeing all the outdoor restaurants and palm trees lining the street and beach.  We had a perfect weekend "away" and I'm sure we will be back at Marenas next year!

Neutrals by BEHR Paint

I've been working on a project for the past two weeks and what always seems to be the most challenging part is choosing paint colors.  I have been wanting to find a nice neutral that isn't too "Gray" and isn't too "Beige" but not too white either. I personally like the look of white walls in pictures but in reality I'm not a huge fan.  Also, I like to see a contrast between painted walls and white trim.  Each time I look over on Pinterest for inspiration I find lots of suggestions for other paint brands..but I'm a BEHR girl :)  We spend so much time at Home Depot it just makes more sense for us.  That being said I decided to share with all of you my suggestions for finding the perfect "light Greige" by BEHR Paints!   To start off with here are three options that are lighter/cooler but will still show a nice contrast next to white. 1. Drizzle 2. Sterling 3. Halation These three options are als

4 Tips for Selling Your Home!

*Sponsored Post. Thank you to our talented guest blogger, Alex Berger, for sharing these 4 tips on selling your home!* Selling your home can be extremely stressful, but if you are in the beginning stages of the home selling process, I have a few tips for you! About four years ago, my parents packed up their home and moved from Marietta, Georgia to Amelia Island, which is about 30-40 minutes from the Jacksonville airport. They had no idea what to expect when it came to buying in a city that was completely new to them (they had only visited Jacksonville once - for two days!), so it was pretty stressful for them. Now, looking back, they could have done many things differently in order to make the process a lot easier for themselves, especially when it came to selling their home. But, since the selling process is so complex and stressful, a lot of people do it “wrong,” and they are just one of many, which is why I want to help. Here are a few tips for selling your home. Hopefully
