Summer Grilling Season Never Looked So Good!

Summer is here and I don't know about you all but we grill a LOT!! Which is completely fine with me because when it comes to manning the grill Elton takes over.  This Father's Day I wanted to give him his own grilling haven at the boat house.  Below you can see his current situation...I know pretty basic.  The boat house was his dream come true so as you have probably noticed we spend most weekends there...he deserved a grilling upgrade!  Now where to start?  You probably guessed it, The Home Depot!

I wasn't really sure where to begin so I first came up with a design mood board (pictured below).  I definitely wanted something that had counters and storage so I began browsing The Home Depot app getting ideas. We don't have much storage to begin with so drawers and usable cabinets were on the top of my list.  I wanted to come up with a space that was functional and could be used by everyone.  How gorgeous is that rug I found?! Yes, it's outdoor and Yes, it's as soft underfoot as it looks! I'll link all the details at the bottom of the post! (PS the price is unbelievable!!)

I came across these buildable outdoor cabinets and knew they were perfect! You can actually create your own kitchen custom to the size/shape/features that you need.  The "L" shaped outdoor kitchens are very popular but for this particular space I needed a straight line of counters and cabinets.  I decided on a set that included the grill cabinets, a three drawer cabinet and a third entertaining cabinet.  This set is so incredible! From the cold drawer to the bottle racks and the slide out double trash bins it had everything I could ever ask for in an outdoor kitchen space. Plenty of storage plus a gorgeous stainless steel appearance.  The unique features built in to these cabinets are simply amazing! I can easily store all outdoor entertaining pieces inside the drawers which makes weekend BBQ's that much more enjoyable.  The cold drawer is a life saver especially on summer afternoons when everyone is in and out of the pool.  I can't tell you how happy it makes me to not deal with dripping wet kiddos grabbing juice boxes from inside...now they grab them poolside!!  HERE is the link to my exact kitchen cabinet set.  Remember you can add on to all these kitchens as they are customizable to your needs and space!!

When it comes to drop in grills I wasn't very well versed but while in store I found this Kitchen Aid grill ( linked HERE) and I was sold! All the cabinets got delivered in a timely manner and were wrapped individually making moving the pieces around much easier! I can not even begin to tell you how easy it was to set up this custom kitchen.  The directions were very clear and once you decide on your design securing the cabinets together goes very quickly. Each cabinet came very well wrapped ensuring the stainless steel avoided any scratches.  Cleaning and upkeep is easy enough using microfiber towels and water.  In one afternoon I got the entire kitchen finished.  A few additional items I chose were even available for same day pickup which was awesome!  This project moved along very quickly!! I love how projects go so smoothly because The Home Depot is a one stop shop for everything you need.

The landscape inside the screened lanai is mainly in planters so when I wanted to match my existing bronze planters I was having trouble remembering the name.  Then I discovered the camera product search feature on The Home Depot app!  Seriously this is one of the coolest features ever and I can't wait to use this on more future projects.  It makes finding exactly what you're looking for SO easy! Did you know you can also use The Home Depot app's Augmented Reality feature while designing your project?  It is also one of the coolest things! You can see the decor products you choose in your home before you buy them!  It's a 3D Augmented Reality of your space with the items you choose!

So what do you think?! I can say Elton was completely surprised that I transformed the back lanai into his own outdoor grilling station! He was even more amazed at the quality of the outdoor cabinets and the gorgeous grill!! He is one heck of a dad and I am so grateful The Home Depot helped make this project which seemed overwhelming so much less stressful than I had imagined! They have the tools and the solutions you need to help complete any project no matter how big or small!

Neutrals by BEHR Paint

I've been working on a project for the past two weeks and what always seems to be the most challenging part is choosing paint colors.  I have been wanting to find a nice neutral that isn't too "Gray" and isn't too "Beige" but not too white either. I personally like the look of white walls in pictures but in reality I'm not a huge fan.  Also, I like to see a contrast between painted walls and white trim.  Each time I look over on Pinterest for inspiration I find lots of suggestions for other paint brands..but I'm a BEHR girl :)  We spend so much time at Home Depot it just makes more sense for us.  That being said I decided to share with all of you my suggestions for finding the perfect "light Greige" by BEHR Paints!   To start off with here are three options that are lighter/cooler but will still show a nice contrast next to white. 1. Drizzle 2. Sterling 3. Halation These three options are als...

4 Tips for Selling Your Home!

*Sponsored Post. Thank you to our talented guest blogger, Alex Berger, for sharing these 4 tips on selling your home!* Selling your home can be extremely stressful, but if you are in the beginning stages of the home selling process, I have a few tips for you! About four years ago, my parents packed up their home and moved from Marietta, Georgia to Amelia Island, which is about 30-40 minutes from the Jacksonville airport. They had no idea what to expect when it came to buying in a city that was completely new to them (they had only visited Jacksonville once - for two days!), so it was pretty stressful for them. Now, looking back, they could have done many things differently in order to make the process a lot easier for themselves, especially when it came to selling their home. But, since the selling process is so complex and stressful, a lot of people do it “wrong,” and they are just one of many, which is why I want to help. Here are a few tips for selling your home. Hopefully...
