(CRAFT) Closet Makeover!

From THIS to THAT!

I have major storage problems in my little home and with my growing Etsy business my kitchen desk was being taking over by wood, paint, stencils, burlap...you get the point.  Then my husband made me see the light! One night he said to me "I think you have successfully redone every inch of this house except the tiny front closet."  DUH! The tiny front closet (where extra throw pillows and paperwork went to die) I immediately got up and walked over to the closet, opened it and emptied it.  Most of the pillows had no chance of ever making it back out into our living spaces so I bagged up a few to donate and a few went into the linen closet.  I took all the paper work and folders and placed them into a large spare basket I had.

Okay, so now the closet was empty but it was rough looking. It had never been painted so I went out to the garage and grabbed my white paint and literally that night I painted that little closet.

I wanted the closet to be fun since it would be holding all my crafting supplies but I'm too cheap to buy wallpaper so I got out my blue painters tape and made some fun stripes like the ones I made on the entry foyer half wall. I love how it turned out and how it flows with the other wall when the closet door is open.

Now came the fun part, decorating this little space! I immediately realized I should bring the IKEA metal art dresser that was in my older daughters room into this closet.  It has no top so I took a piece of large board we had in the garage, painted it and cut it to size.  Placing it on top of the IKEA drawers gave me a counter and also allowed my girls crafts to be organized underneath.

I found some peg board we had extra from our "project organize garage".  I also found some old trim pieces.  I painted the trim in a bright cheerful yellow and cut them to fit around the peg board.  The only part of this closet I actually went out and bought was the Wall Decals (Target $12).  I added  two extra screw on hooks to the back wall and hung a skinny wire basket on the opposite wall.

All the girls items are organized and put away. plus within easy access for them to get what they want.  PLUS it opened up my daughter floor space in her closet to store more TOYS! lol.

There you have it! This little space is so bright and happy it makes me happy each time I open it! My kitchen desk is back to only holding decor items lol.  I couldn't be happier with how it all turned out for basically nothing!

4 Tips for Selling Your Home!

*Sponsored Post. Thank you to our talented guest blogger, Alex Berger, for sharing these 4 tips on selling your home!* Selling your home can be extremely stressful, but if you are in the beginning stages of the home selling process, I have a few tips for you! About four years ago, my parents packed up their home and moved from Marietta, Georgia to Amelia Island, which is about 30-40 minutes from the Jacksonville airport. They had no idea what to expect when it came to buying in a city that was completely new to them (they had only visited Jacksonville once - for two days!), so it was pretty stressful for them. Now, looking back, they could have done many things differently in order to make the process a lot easier for themselves, especially when it came to selling their home. But, since the selling process is so complex and stressful, a lot of people do it “wrong,” and they are just one of many, which is why I want to help. Here are a few tips for selling your home. Hopefully

Neutrals by BEHR Paint

I've been working on a project for the past two weeks and what always seems to be the most challenging part is choosing paint colors.  I have been wanting to find a nice neutral that isn't too "Gray" and isn't too "Beige" but not too white either. I personally like the look of white walls in pictures but in reality I'm not a huge fan.  Also, I like to see a contrast between painted walls and white trim.  Each time I look over on Pinterest for inspiration I find lots of suggestions for other paint brands..but I'm a BEHR girl :)  We spend so much time at Home Depot it just makes more sense for us.  That being said I decided to share with all of you my suggestions for finding the perfect "light Greige" by BEHR Paints!   To start off with here are three options that are lighter/cooler but will still show a nice contrast next to white. 1. Drizzle 2. Sterling 3. Halation These three options are als
