Easy and Affordable tips for decorating your Christmas Tree this year!

Okay, I know it seems Christmas exploded over here and it's literally the first week of November....but I'm a blogger guys! I'm always one season ahead hahaha.  Plus my sister is hosting Thanksgiving sooooo that means my house can start getting all Falalalala a little early! :)

That being said....I am soooo excited to bring you my collaboration with King of Christmas this year!  I got the opportunity to partner with them two years ago when I did a blog post titled "Dreaming of a Coastal Christmas" featuring their white spruce tree.  It quickly became a favorite tree around here....actually last year with the move it was one of the only Christmas items we unboxed!

Well this year I'm at it again but I chose the more traditional 7.5 foot King Flock Pre-lit Tree (Which is on sale for an awesome price)

Wow is this tree a stunner!  So full and so dreamy!! I also chose the matching lighted flocked garland and lighted flocked wreath.  It is seriously like a winter wonderland in the family room.  And cozy! Oh so cozy!!

As I'm sure you know changing tree themes all the time is crazy and expensive.  However I wanted this years new flocked tree in our new home to be red and white with some black and white buffalo check.  All the family ornaments will be upstairs on the white spruce in the loft.  So I wanted this tree to be mommas "pinterest worthy" attempt at a tree :) LOL

Being thrifty (some may say cheap Ha!) like I am I began brainstorming how to create this tree on a budget.  I ended up at JOANN Fabrics obviously.  Because DUH!

I picked up some wired buffalo check ribbon (two spools) that were on sale plus I had a coupon for 20% your total purchase.  Instead of using deco mesh or draping the ribbon all though the tree like garland (because I would have needed a lot more which = more money)  I simply cut the ribbon into about 7-8" strips.  I tied these all over the tree tips.

I also added the ribbon on the tips of the garland.

Okay you guys this little craft right here is my pride and joy.  I found this set of 12 large plastic clear ornaments that you could fill on Amazon.  I thought this would look so cute and not be the same ornaments that every person on your street buys from Target LOL.  I originally wanted to fill these with white feathers but I ended up filling them with red for some pops of color. The options are limitless!!

I also wanted the tree to be very "winter wonderland" if you know what I mean.  Even though it is flocked I wanted even more magical white snow! So I decided to add small craft feather boas!  They don't need to be excellent quality since you aren't wearing them which makes them surprisingly affordable.  I chose to have them streaming downward (only after attempting wrapping them around the tree) just my preference.

(I used "mini" feather boas not the full/thick ones you wear for a costume.  The one I have linked for you guys is also a mini but has a few pieces of silver in it as well)

Those are the three things I'm using on my tree this year that add to the uniqueness of it!  I already had quite a few red ornaments and only bought 4 new "JOY" ones I found at Target this year for $3 an ornament.  I'm still working on the topper.  I think I may go with some fun sprays off the top like my bedroom tree!

What about you? Have you thought about this years tree theme? If you haven't checked out my silver tinsel tree yet make sure to read the blog post...it's a blue and silver Christmas wonderland in the master bedroom this year!  Are you going to try some fun feather boas or DIY ornaments?  If you do make sure to tag me on your posts! I'd love to see!!
  XOXO

4 Tips for Selling Your Home!

*Sponsored Post. Thank you to our talented guest blogger, Alex Berger, for sharing these 4 tips on selling your home!* Selling your home can be extremely stressful, but if you are in the beginning stages of the home selling process, I have a few tips for you! About four years ago, my parents packed up their home and moved from Marietta, Georgia to Amelia Island, which is about 30-40 minutes from the Jacksonville airport. They had no idea what to expect when it came to buying in a city that was completely new to them (they had only visited Jacksonville once - for two days!), so it was pretty stressful for them. Now, looking back, they could have done many things differently in order to make the process a lot easier for themselves, especially when it came to selling their home. But, since the selling process is so complex and stressful, a lot of people do it “wrong,” and they are just one of many, which is why I want to help. Here are a few tips for selling your home. Hopefully

Neutrals by BEHR Paint

I've been working on a project for the past two weeks and what always seems to be the most challenging part is choosing paint colors.  I have been wanting to find a nice neutral that isn't too "Gray" and isn't too "Beige" but not too white either. I personally like the look of white walls in pictures but in reality I'm not a huge fan.  Also, I like to see a contrast between painted walls and white trim.  Each time I look over on Pinterest for inspiration I find lots of suggestions for other paint brands..but I'm a BEHR girl :)  We spend so much time at Home Depot it just makes more sense for us.  That being said I decided to share with all of you my suggestions for finding the perfect "light Greige" by BEHR Paints!   To start off with here are three options that are lighter/cooler but will still show a nice contrast next to white. 1. Drizzle 2. Sterling 3. Halation These three options are als
