A Little place called Amelia Island....

Last weekend we kicked off summer by heading North (about 4 hours) to a little historic town called Amelia Island.
My husband always talks about heading North to Jacksonville so that is how the idea came about.  Me...I am always looking what's South of us.  It's like I completely forget there is a whole other half of Florida to explore! I am so happy we took this trip and I think it was the perfect combination of relaxing and exploring.

We stayed at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort.  What a slice of heaven! This property is HUGE and offers so many different types of rooms.  From the standard hotel resort room to villas to full blown condos.  Getting around the hotel is a breeze since they offer free trams that you literally just call (by pressing 0) and they come right to your location.  Or you can stand by all the numerous "tram stops".

Aside from the gorgeous resort the historic downtown is definitely worth the trip! The cutest little shops, restaurants and bars. Including the oldest bar in Florida! Plus the railroad and the marina make for some awesome views and pictures.

The most adorable "old fashion" book store!

We drove all around the streets right behind the main drive to see the gorgeous homes! Most are bed and breakfasts now which would be another great option for staying on the island.

One of the many (like 8) different restaurants that are on site.  We had dinner here on Friday night. The girls loved all the lush landscape.  It had a whole different feel than your basic "tropical" vacation.  It was all very southern and very welcoming.  All the staff we encountered were more than helpful and the food was all amazing!

FYI I wore the Target sandals all weekend and I LOVE them! Super comfy!

This was our Villas private pool that was separate from the resorts.  We also had our own boardwalk down to the beach that made evening strolls super convenient.

The hotel offers lots of options for breakfasts...there is even a little market to pick up your own stuff.  Small plate breakfasts and breakfast buffets are also available at different restaurants.  Don't worry about finding all this out...they give you a whole planner with everything you would want to know going on!

The main resort building has these spectacular pools! One was for 18yrs and older and the larger was the family pool. It also included a toddler splash pad.

Down on the beach they had options for all budgets.  From renting chairs only, to chairs and small umbrellas, to larger umbrellas to renting a huge canopy.

On Saturday night we decided to make reservations at the Famous Bob's Steak House.  We kept telling the girls it was only for adults so they had to act like big kids.  They were super excited lol.  Ava literally acted like a little lady...she gets such a kick out of doing things like older kids. Lucky for her they were able to make some special mac n cheese!

Bob's was in the same area as the resort "shops".  This was a little strip surrounding a lake with lots of fun island boutiques.

That evening after dinner we went down to the beach for the family beach fire and smores.  The girls got fresh leis! We have never made it to Hawaii yet so this was as close as we've gotten! The leis were gorgeous!

After we left the island we ended up taking A1A down the coast and checking out all the little beach towns.  The weekend couldn't have gone any better and it is definitely going down as one of my favorite trips! (and yes I know I always say that Ha! )

Until next time Amelia Island...

XOXO
Tracy

4 Tips for Selling Your Home!

*Sponsored Post. Thank you to our talented guest blogger, Alex Berger, for sharing these 4 tips on selling your home!* Selling your home can be extremely stressful, but if you are in the beginning stages of the home selling process, I have a few tips for you! About four years ago, my parents packed up their home and moved from Marietta, Georgia to Amelia Island, which is about 30-40 minutes from the Jacksonville airport. They had no idea what to expect when it came to buying in a city that was completely new to them (they had only visited Jacksonville once - for two days!), so it was pretty stressful for them. Now, looking back, they could have done many things differently in order to make the process a lot easier for themselves, especially when it came to selling their home. But, since the selling process is so complex and stressful, a lot of people do it “wrong,” and they are just one of many, which is why I want to help. Here are a few tips for selling your home. Hopefully

Neutrals by BEHR Paint

I've been working on a project for the past two weeks and what always seems to be the most challenging part is choosing paint colors.  I have been wanting to find a nice neutral that isn't too "Gray" and isn't too "Beige" but not too white either. I personally like the look of white walls in pictures but in reality I'm not a huge fan.  Also, I like to see a contrast between painted walls and white trim.  Each time I look over on Pinterest for inspiration I find lots of suggestions for other paint brands..but I'm a BEHR girl :)  We spend so much time at Home Depot it just makes more sense for us.  That being said I decided to share with all of you my suggestions for finding the perfect "light Greige" by BEHR Paints!   To start off with here are three options that are lighter/cooler but will still show a nice contrast next to white. 1. Drizzle 2. Sterling 3. Halation These three options are als
